Paint. Draw. Paper. Canvas. Board. Worked at the National Geographic Society as Picture Researcher and Editor for
seven years. Live on land that has been in the family since 1875. Maintain and work to improve a 100+ year old
antique garden. In the attic: letters written to and from family member who were soldiers during the civil war.
Displaced Californian. Love paper. Oh, the things I find in the soil! Photographic portraits. Ancestral cemetary in
back yard at the edge of the woods, facing East. Five graves. First daffodils to bloom each years on property are on
the baby's grave which is surrounded by large sea shells. 100 year old 8 x 10 glass plates and original box camera
used for pictures of house and land. Found a box full of tin types in the dining room cabinet. All this in quite an urban
setting. Hidden from most. Photograph published in National Geographic Magazine, Visions of Earth, 2010 of antique
lotus in our lotus pool. Currently I am a National Geographic Image Collection Photographer. Paint on anything. In a
cabinet, found a box of dried seahorses and star fish that were saved to make a chess set. Won 2nd Place, SD at
Radius 250, juried by John Ravenal, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, Virginia Museum of Fine Arts,
Richmond. In the basement, ceramic wine vessels with 100-year old wine-turned-vinegar. Have taught Drawing
and Painting: the Creative Process, and Figure Drawing and Painting at AAC for seven years. Love to draw. Paint
trompe l'oeil murals in both commercial and residential venues since 1990. Cover artwork for Haskell Smalls Classic
CD "Odyssey". Corcoran College of Art and Design 1999 - 2004 with William Christenberry, including his Master
Classes. Was his class assistant. Juried into Volume 22 of Studio Visit Magazine. Many juried group exhibitions and
awards. Studio visits welcome.
